Self-Care and Wellbeing for Practitioners

Self-Care and Wellbeing for Practitioners
Webinar Recording: Recorded in May 2023
CPD Competency: Professional Practice Application

Self-Care and Wellbeing conversations are on the rise and we are certainly on the case also. Many organisational employees have access to EAP (Employee Assistance Program) and Wellbeing support; a highly sought after benefit which is missing for a private and end-user practitioner.

Additionally, psychologists, caseworkers, paramedics and the like have access to debriefing and supervision, but as career development practitioners / coaches, who do we professionally debrief with? And what or whose practice frameworks are we relying on and who is keeping our practice accountable and responsible?

Effectively running your own practice or on behalf of another; managing everyday workloads, digital productivity, exercise, sleeping well, and energy and stress levels applies to all practitioners, regardless of sector, specialisation or employment structure.

This webinar is presented by Belinda Edwards, an experienced Senior Executive with a demonstrated history of working in NSW public sector administration and program delivery. Belinda is skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Coaching, Strategic Planning, Clinical Supervision, Motivational Interviewing and clinical assessment and diagnosis.

Belinda has a Masters of Clinical Psychology from University of Newcastle and is focused on ways in which she can support individuals, families and services to meet the diverse needs of vulnerable children, families and communities.

Topics covered include:

- Understanding stress
- Acknowledging that it is ok to have stress
- Identifying and managing stress outside of coping
- Building resilience
- Developing your own self care plan

Our constant aim is to help safeguard our profession with sound career development practice, whilst seeking to find ways for individuals or organisational practitioners to support their own health and wellbeing!
